Metal recycling

uPVC frames are reinforced with steel & fitted with metal hardware. As we strip frames for recycling, we recover that metal too — alongside other ferrous & non-ferrous waste — & return it to the supply chain.

Metal we recover

  • Steel reinforcement from frames
  • Handles, hinges, locks & fittings
  • Aluminium sections
  • General ferrous & non-ferrous scrap

Nothing useful goes to landfill. The metal we strip from frames is recovered & recycled, not discarded.

Most uPVC windows & doors contain steel reinforcement bars, plus handles, hinges, locks & other metal fittings. When we process frames at our Bridgwater facility, this metal is separated out during sorting & stripping, then graded & sent on for recycling.

We also accept loose ferrous & non-ferrous metal as part of a collection. If you generate mixed metal waste alongside your PVCu, talk to us — a single collection can clear both.
